Coming-of-Age Day

In Japan, the 2nd Monday is the day of "Coming-of-Age" .
Ceremonies are held and many new adult men and women join them.
Adult means 20 years old in Japan.

However, in recently every years, some accidents of violence are occured by excited young men.

2o years old is really adult ?

Hi Ohto-san. I happened to see your introduction on mixi's community. That's how I find your blog. =D.

Woooooow Coming-of-age day? That's really interesting. In Thailand we don't have such event though. This is really cool. All girls and guys would be really excited to become a so-called 'adult'. I think people at 20 are not a complete adult. But I guess becoming an adult must mean being more mature and responsible. Right?

I have just turned 20 last year. LOL~ Too bad I didn't know of the Coming-of-age day. Otherwise I would celebrate the beginning of my adulthood.

Thankz so much for sharing it with us. I will keep checking your post when I can. +^^

Hi mochi-san.

Oh, you just turned 20 last year!
Did you change something in your mind?

In Japan, becoming 20 years old means beginig of adult so they can drink, they can enjoy a smoke and they can participate an election.

Thank you!
